Download the Media Creation Tool and then run it. Select Create installation media for another PC. Choose a language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit). Follow the steps to create an installation media and then select Finish. Connect the installation media that you created to your non-functional PC, and then turn it on. Editor’s note: Now that the Windows 10 Creators Update is available from the Media Creation Tool, we decided to update this article from last year for users who are new to the Media Creation Tool. Nothing feels better than using a freshly reset Windows 10 PC in the morning. Note that the version of Windows 7 you get to download will depend on your product key. So if you are using a Windows 7 Home key, you’ll only be able to download Windows 7 Home. Download & Install Windows 8.1. For Windows 8.1, you have to download the media creation tool.

Just got an email from Microsoft providing more details on when Windows 10 will arrive. I can either wait for the popup to appear 'as soon as a few days or in a few weeks', I can get free assistance at a Microsoft Store, or I can use the Media Creation Tool to upgrade now.
